16 slices of sandwich bread

1 scoop of mozzarella cheese

1 tomato

4 slices of white ham or 8 slices of parma ham

Parmesan or Gruyère cheese

1 bunch of basil

Olive oil

Preparation: 10 min
Cooking time: 15 min
Step 1
Take 2 slices of sandwich bread. Using a brush, brush them with a little olive oil.
Step 2
On one of the slices, place 2 slices of tomato (seed), 2 slices of mozzarella, 1/2 slice of ham, 2 basil leaves and finally a little gruyère or parmesan cheese.
Step 3
Cover with the other slice of bread. Sprinkle the top with a little grated Gruyère or Parmesan cheese.
Step 4
Do the same for the rest of the sandwich bread.
Step 5
Bake in a hot oven (210°C/th 7) for 15 minutes until golden brown.
Author's note
If you use white ham, I advise you to season your mozzarella with salt and pepper, otherwise the croque-monsieur will be too bland. On the other hand, if you use Parma ham, leave it as it is.
