4 fresh tomatoes

200 g smoked tofu

1 carrot

1 onion

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon tomato paste

Olive oil

Pepper

Salt

Preparation: 10 min
Cooking time: 30 min
Step 1
Peel and grate the carrot. Peel and slice the onion. Grate the tofu. Cut the tomatoes into cubes.
Step 2
Sauté the onion, carrot and tofu in hot olive oil for 5 to 10 minutes. Add tomatoes, sugar, tomato paste, garlic, basil, salt and pepper. Mix well.
Step 3
Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 4
All that remains is to serve hot with pasta that has been cooked while the sauce is simmering.

My dear and tender companion is not a fan of meat substitutes, especially tofu. But then he didn't notice the presence of smoked tofu in the sauce until I told him (at the end of the meal).
