Tray of filled pita breads (Mayan meal)

Number of people

8 pita breads
For the crushed tomatoes:

3 tomatoes

1 onion

1/2 lime

2 drops of tabasco

Step 1
The principle of the Mayan meal: everyone stuffs their pita bread with what they want. All mixtures are allowed!

Preparation of some dishes:
Step 3
Crushed tomatoes: peel the tomatoes, chop them into small pieces. Slice the onion. Squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon. Chop fresh basil. Mix everything with tabasco, salt and pepper

Cheeses and sausages: cut the cheeses into small pieces, the sausages into strips.
Step 5
Fried onions: Slice the onions and fry them in a frying pan over medium heat. When they are golden and translucent, pour 1/2 glass of water to glaze them and leave over low heat.

Guacamole: cut the avocado meat into small pieces and crush it with a fork. Add the lime juice, chopped garlic clove (or pressed garlic), a few drops of tabasco, chopped coriander, olive oil, salt and pepper.
Step 7
Mix well. If necessary, pass the preparation in the blender.
Step 8
Sautéed mushrooms: fry the mushrooms in a pan with a little fat.

Pickled peppers (to be prepared the day before): Slice the peppers into very thin strips. Place them in a hollow dish. Pour olive oil over the slides to cover them. Salt. The next day, remove the excess oil.

Cut the pita breads in half to make semi-circles.

Don't forget to slightly open the breads to make it easier to fill them.

Then, place the various creations in small bowls/plates. Set the table and have a toaster in the middle (or 2 if there are many of you)!
