700 g ground meat

12 tomatoes

4 onions

1 drizzle of olive oil

5 tablespoons chopped basil

1 teaspoon of grated nutmeg

Flower of salt

Pepper

Cooking time: 1 h
Step 1
In a bowl, mix by hand, the meat, the basil, 1 teaspoon of fleur de sel and a large pinch of pepper.
Step 2
Form into small balls, flatten them slightly and set aside.
Step 3
In a large saucepan, blanch the tomatoes, peel and quarter them.
Step 4
In a high-sided frying pan or casserole dish, brown the finely chopped onions in olive oil and add the tomato pieces.
Step 5
First cook over high heat, stirring often.
Step 6
Then simmer until the initial volume is reduced by half.
Step 7
In the thick tomato sauce, thus obtained, place the meatballs and cook them for 5 minutes on each side.
Step 8
If necessary, divide into two batches.
Step 9
Serve with white rice, plain pasta or green vegetables.
