8 elongated shallots

200 g mascarpone

8 slices of raw ham

40 g grated parmesan cheese

15 cl of liquid cream

2 eggs

Basil

Pepper

Salt




Preparation

Preparation: 20 min
Cooking time: 50 min
Step 1
Peel the shallots and steam them for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Wrap each shallot in a slice of raw ham and place in a gratin dish.
Step 3
Beat together the mascarpone, eggs and liquid cream.
Step 4
Season with salt (not too much, because of the ham), pepper and sprinkle with chopped basil (optional).
Step 5
pour the mixture over the shallots.
Step 6
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake at 180°C (th 6) until the gratin is golden brown (15 to 20 min).
Author's note
In a less refined version, can be prepared with white ham, béchamel and grated gruyère (my children love the slightly sweet taste of shallots, more pleasant than that of endives!)
