Basque-style tuna

Basque-style tuna

Number of people

1 kg of fresh tuna

5 ripe tomatoes

1 green pepper

2 red peppers

2 onions

10 cl dry white wine

1/2 bunch of basil

Olive oil



Preparation: 30 min
Cooking time: 1 h
Step 1
Wash and cut peppers into strips, tomatoes into quarters and onions into rings. Chop the basil.
Step 2
Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a casserole dish. Sweat the onions and peppers for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3
Add the tomatoes, salt, pepper and white wine.
Step 4
In another casserole or large frying pan, heat a little oil. Season the tuna with salt and pepper, fry it on all sides to brown it.
Step 5
Add the tuna to the vegetable casserole, cover and simmer for 1 hour over very low heat. Add a little water if necessary during cooking.

Serve with rice or fresh pasta.
