800 g stale country bread

4 tablespoons of olive oil

4 tablespoons wine vinegar

4 tomatoes in small pieces

2 red onions, minced

1 handful of basil

4 lettuce leaves in strips

Flower of salt

Black pepper from the mill

Step 1
Cut the bread into thick slices.
Step 2
If it is too hard, spread it in a dish and soften it for 1 hour in a base of cold water by turning them twice.
Step 3
Then, gently pat the bread slices dry and cut them into cubes.
Step 4
Pour them into a bowl with the oil, vinegar, tomatoes, onions, coarsely chopped basil, lettuce, salt and pepper.
Step 5
Mix and let stand 15 min, before serving chilled.
