1 l virgin olive oil

150 g fresh basil

Step 1
Gently heat the oil in a saucepan until it reaches 40°C.
Step 2
Crush a little basil before garnishing the sterilized hot bottles.
Step 3
Fill them with hot oil, and seal.
Step 4
This oil will be fine in 3 or 4 weeks.
Author's note
If you want to keep this oil for more than a few weeks, it is better to filter it after 3 months, before prolonged maceration damages the basil leaves. Put the filtered oil back in the bottle and close the cap.
