Mozzarella pastry

Mozzarella pastry

Number of people

1 pâtisson depending on the size

250 g mozzarella cut into thin slices.

8 cherry tomatoes

1 jar of dried tomato in olive oil

8 fresh basil leaves

Coarse salt

Pepper from the mill

Olive oil

Herbs of Provence

Preparation: 15 min
Cooking time: 18 min
Step 1
Peel the pastry. Cut into 1 cm slices.
Cut 8 rectangles from these slices.
Step 2
Heat 5 spoons of olive oil in a frying pan and brown the pastry rectangles on both sides (+/- 5 minutes on each side).
Step 3
Place them in a lightly oiled gratin dish.
On the pastry rectangles, place chopped dried tomatoes, a slice of mozzarella cheese topped with a basil leaf and a cherry tomato cut in half.
Season with pepper and sow some Provençal herbs.
Step 4
Place under the oven grill for 7 - 8 minutes.
Step 5
Add a small pinch of coarse salt before serving.
Author's note
Double the quantities for a more copious entry or a snack. To be enjoyed as a starter with a piece of grilled baguette and a small, fresh rosé from Provence.
