Chicken with Beaufort cheese

Chicken with Beaufort cheese

Number of people

1 chicken of 1.5 kg

50 g butter

15 bell onions

4 dl white wine

250 g Beaufort cheese



Preparation: 15 min
Cooking time: 45 min
Step 1
Cut the chicken into pieces. Peel the bell onions. Gently sauté the onions in butter. Remove the onions and brown the chicken. Put the onions back with the chicken and add half of the white wine, salt and pepper.
Step 2
Cover and cook gently for 40 minutes.
Step 3
Store onions and chicken in an ovenproof dish.
Step 4
Cut the Beaufort into thin strips in a saucepan, sprinkle it with the rest of the white wine, add salt and pepper, melt over low heat and turn continuously with a wooden spoon. Pour this fondue over the chicken.
Step 5
Spend 5 minutes under the broiler.
Author's note
Melt the cheese just before coating the chicken, as it melts in advance and hardens.
