1 kg of fresh peas with pods, shelled

250 g smoked bacon

1 onion

1 lettuce core

30 g butter

1 sugar cube

Salt

Pepper




Preparation

Preparation time: 15 min
Cooking time: 30 min

Shelling peas.
In a saucepan, sauté the bacon in butter.
When they start to brown, add the onion, the lettuce core and the peas. Cover with water, then add the sugar cube, salt and pepper.
Simmer over low heat, about 30 minutes, until the peas are tender.
