500 g dry bread

100 g sugar (according to taste)

150 g semi-salted butter

75 cl of milk (preferably skimmed, so as not to add fat in addition to butter)

Cooking time: 1 d 6 h
Line a baking tin with slices of dry bread and add 1/3 of the milk.
Melt the semi-salted butter in the remaining 2/3 of the milk.
Pour the semi-salted butter and milk mixture over the bread.
Sprinkle generously with sugar.
Cook at 180°C (gas mark 6) for 20/30 min.
Serve lukewarm.
