4 whole eggs

120 g caster sugar

100 g flour

1.5 sachet of baking powder

120 g soft butter

350 g vanilla chestnut cream

5 tablespoons of old (or amber) rum

3 tablespoons of slivered almonds (optional)

Cooking time: 50 min
Break the whole eggs, add the sugar; stir well.
Add the old rum (flambé it beforehand if the cake is made for children).
Add flour and baking powder to the mixture.
Melt the butter very gently (without colouring it); pour it over the dough.
Add the vanilla chestnut cream to the dough, in small quantities each time; stir well with a spoon.
Use the electric mixer. The dough takes on a "marron glacé" colour.
If desired, add a few slivered almonds (optional).
Butter a baking tin; pour the dough into the tin and bake for 50 min at thermostat 4 (do not open the oven at the beginning of the baking process).
