Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • cups heavy cream
  • cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg

Optional:

  • 2 oz cream cheese for extra richness
  • Up to ½ cup whole milk to thin sauce
  • 1 cup cooked shredded chicken for chicken Alfredo

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  • Slowly whisk in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Let it bubble softly for 3–4 minutes, stirring often.
  • Lower heat and add Parmesan in small handfuls, whisking until smooth.
  • Stir in salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Taste and adjust as needed.
  • Add optional cream cheese, milk, or chicken if using. Stir gently.
  • Remove from heat once the sauce coats the back of a spoon. Serve warm.
