- 1 large egg
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1¼ tsp kosher salt divided
- ½ tsp black pepper
- About 3 cups neutral oil canola or peanut
