Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni about 3 cups dry
  • 1 lb ground beef 85% lean
  • 1 small yellow onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 cans 15 oz each tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¾ tsp kosher salt plus more to taste
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley optional

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions
 

  • Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat; drain any excess grease.
  • Add the onion and sauté 2–3 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Mix in tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook 1 minute.
  • Pour in tomato sauce and beef broth; bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Stir in uncooked elbow macaroni. Cover and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Sprinkle cheese on top. Cover for 2–3 minutes until melted.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use 85% lean ground beef. This recipe is naturally nut-free and family-friendly. Pasta cooks directly in the sauce — no separate boiling required!
