- 3 large ripe bananas about 1 ½ cups mashed
- ½ cup unsalted butter melted and cooled
- ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour scooped and leveled
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Optional Ingredients:
- ½ –¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup toasted walnuts or pecans
- Dash of ground nutmeg ⅛ teaspoon
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9 × 5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mash bananas until mostly smooth.
Whisk in butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, yogurt, and vanilla until glossy.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Stir in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 55–65 minutes, tenting with foil if the top browns too quickly.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Slice and enjoy every cozy, banana-packed bite!
Use very ripe bananas (lots of brown spots!) for the sweetest flavor and best texture. Line your loaf pan with parchment paper for easy lifting and clean slices.
